White person #1: What’s a lychee? (She said it really weird, but I can’t recall how she said it because my memory is extremely bad)
White person #2: Oh, I know what it is! It tastes like Sprite!

Justin and I proceed to look at each other like so: O_O and promptly laugh. Also noteworthy – service today was really bad for some reason. The person in front of me ordered, but then the person who took their orders went to the back to make drinks (for probably ~3 previous orders) even when there was a person already working in the back. A line started to form, and still no sign of an order taker….we stood for around 10-ish minutes before they actually came back. I may be overestimating, but it felt like a really long time. :(

I also saw The Dark Knight this past weekend, which was nothing short of amazing. Heath Ledger seriously stole the show, especially for me since after hearing 2 seconds of Christian Bale’s “Batman voice,” I never wanted to hear it again. If I had a cough drop, I would’ve given it to him somehow. Probably by throwing it at the screen? (Haha, maybe not.)

Speaking of amazing actors, I thought I’d do a picture-tastic post by featuring actors who can’t act (but may or may not be nice to look at). This was spurred on by someone’s Facebook status a couple of days ago, and is really just an example of how much time I have on my hands.

The first person who comes to mind is Korean actor Daniel Henney. He’s certainly (very) nice to look at and is extremely easy on the eyes, but he can’t for the life of him act. Also something worth mentioning is although he acts in Korean dramas, movies, etc., he’s not a native Korean speaker. So in everything that he acts in, he speaks in English…which is extremely weird and does not provide any type of connection to the other characters, who seem to understand English perfectly but respond in Korean. Wikipedia says that he’s landed a role in the new X-men movie about Wolverine, so hopefully acting in his native language will be a million times better than his acting in Korea.

Okay seriously? I love Hayden Christensen. I have no reason to, since he can’t act (and is also one of those can’t-act-but-good-eye-candy cases). I think I like him because he plays Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, but he didn’t even do that well. His acting was horrid in the second Star Wars movie but improved dramatically in the third (which is my fav, since I semi-worship Darth Vader), but it wasn’t good enough for me to go “omg, that’s Heath Ledger amazing.” Or maybe I’m just a cynic making these lists because I 1) have nothing better to do and 2) want their money.

I would just like to start out by saying that I dislike Keanu Reeves. I don’t think he can act, and he’s not oogle-worthy in my book, so it’s like the worst of both worlds. I never really liked the Matrix movies (in which I thought he was moderately okay in), and every other movie that I’ve seen him in I thought sucked. For example, in that one movie with Charlize Theron called Sweet November or November Something or Something November, I couldn’t stop laughing at him despite the general topic of the movie: being in love with someone who has cancer. Charlize Theron, I thought was great in the movie, but the monotonous, extremely boring Keanu was not. Show more emotion!!

And that’s all that comes to mind right now. Maybe I’ll expand it later or do an “Actresses Who Can’t Act” type deal…I think I’ll call these things “Tamisa lists.”

gross, i hate DH. And when he does speak English, its like fobbified english like in Witch YooHee. Grossgusting.

  2. Haha he’s a craptacular actor, but an awesome model! ;)

  3. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that Korean dude before but OHHHHHH my goodness, he’s rather beautiful xD

On the other hand, I’m afraid I find neither Christensen nor Reeves attractive… haha but, correct, ANAAAAKIN!! NEOOOOO!!!

I need to see The Dark Knight at some point.

  4. Tamisa, SO TRUE ABOUT DANIEL HENNEY! You might as well add the other Korean mixed model, Dennis Oh into the picture.

And there are just so many more actors that fall under this category that it becomes pathetic if you really name all of them.

  5. @ Laura: Haha yeah, there’s plenty of beautiful Asian guys. Maybe I’ll make another list ;)

AND WATCH IT! I want to go see it again, but on IMAX this time. Unfortunately, Justin doesn’t want to drive that far or spend that much on tickets :(

@ Eunice: Never heard of him, but ahaha I YouTubed him and they’re exactly the same. But there was this one vid where he’s swimming and ahhhhhhhhhh.
